Ahhh! I’m excited to announce Glamorous Planning, a brand and blog born out of the desire to bring structure & organization into busy lives through stylish, easy-to-use planners and office supplies. I’ve been holding this secret in for over two years. Yes, I can’t believe it either. The past six months has showed true persistence, dedication and hard work. Late nights, lots of iced coffee, 40 hour work weeks (from my day job) and tons of research is the true definition of a hustler. There is no normal in entrepreneurship. Everyday brings new challenges and victories.
As a planner lover since high school, I’ve purchased several planners but each one missed something, whether it were accountability, financial strategies, health components, more writing room and most importantly a community. I wanted to design a planner with both function & style. Between working a demanding full-time job, attending graduate school and maintaining a personal blog– starting a business seemed far fetch. But with the help of my super supportive fiancé, an awesome mentor and loving family &friends, my vision was born. In the early days, I had no clue how I would design, manufacture, and finance my product. With no experience in photoshop, a couple thousand dollars saved from my paychecks (two jobs combined) and a shit ton of ambition, I started sketching and working on R&D. I found my mentor/designer online a year prior to actually starting my business– the power of social networking is REAL. I scheduled a 30-minute consultation special she was running and chatted with her about my idea and mission. A year would go by before I could actually afford her services. She helped me with design, overseas production, and business advice. Seriously I can’t thank my support system enough. Lots of sacrifice: limited eating out, no shopping, and soaking up as much knowledge as possible. *Pro tip: Build structure and find balance
